Day 4 - Green

Green! (Ha Ha, so redundant with the title right above it...)

So I have been trying to think of something different to do for each of these colors. Today I broke out my brushes, which made me realize that I REALLY need new brushes. Luckily I have been looking at some so hopefully I will be better for another challenge.

Anyways, I had a hard time deciding what to put on my green nails. When I think of green I think leaves, since I didn't really want to do flowers of a different color (as I said trying to bring focus to the color of the challenge) I chose to do green flowers with a silver center.

These kind of look like a 3rd grader did them, but I always did better with charcoal in my art classes... actually I never got to the paint classes. Even with that, I am still happy with what I came up with, hope you like them.

Day 3 - Yellow

ellow, what comes to mind when you think of the color yellow? I think of sunshine, bumble bees, butterflies, and sunflowers! The next question is when given a challenge using the color yellow, what am I going to do?

Well I will tell you that today's was kind of hard, not because of the challenge, but because my nail time was taken up by my 4 yr old. We had some storms come through at bed time (why do they always seem to come at bed time or nap time?) and I was needed for snuggling. She would not go to sleep and my husband finnaly came in and woke me up after midnight. So there went the time I would have done my nails.

So out at work for the day and am unable to do my nails, one other problem is that I can't even look at my plates to come up with ideas. There are a number of designs that I would live to do, but honestly I don't think I could pull off the painting part. So I am unfortunatly going to be doing two different mani's tonight, since I really want them done for tomorrows challenge.

Well here is what I came up with, I hope you like it!

Look its a mini mani... so I had to add these pictures because my 4 yr old loved this mani, and asked to have it too, so here are the little nails to match mine.

Day 2 - Orange

Today we have ORANGE!

I have to admit I have kind of always liked the color orange. To me it has always been bold, unique, and different, which always seemed to fit my personality.

I think I may have stated this already (but can't quite remember) that my biggest concern for this 31day challenge is going to be coming up with new and creative designs. Sometimes I really like the simple designs, which is what I have chosen to do today. Yesterday I did stamping, and sure you can come up with awsome designs (and don't get me wrong, I love stamping and will do it more even in this challenge) but for me trying to come up with designs without stamps is going to be challenging.
So here is today's picture... If you ask me (and I am trying not to be bias) I think this one turned out really nice, it is simple, and I tried to bring out the color orange as that is today's challenge. For the single color challenges, I want to highlight the color as best as I can.

Had to add this one (as I wasn't thinking about the color of the day when I got my youngest dressed). My son was wearing an orange shirt that happened to be the same color as my nails...

One bummer with photos is that you don 't get the sparkle factor... oh well...

Day 1 - Red

It is the first day of my first challenge, and the goal was RED!

I don't usually like to use full red nails, as it is annoying to get off bcecause of the staining. I have read (and tryed it once and it worked great) that if you just hold the cotton swab with cleaner on the nail for a minute or so and then rub strait down to the end of your nails, you do not get the strainig. I still don't feel like having to go through that.

So for this first challenge, I went with stamping, and my favorite red for it (this red only really works on naked nails, or a light color, nothing really dark, I would probably have a different favorite if I had actual stamping polish but I don't... hmmm... Christmas... Oh Hunny!). The red that I used was Orly - Grave Mistake. I did not use anything else except a clear base and clear top coat... so here is my first day's nails, Enjoy and let me know what you think!

August 2012 - 31 Day Challenge (PaA)

My first daily Challenge!!!

I am really excited, I did my first polish last night (and plan on doing them the night before so that I have the polish on the whole day  instead of feeling like I am a day behind. Also I will be posting another post after this with my first art.).

My Goals:
- First I hope that I am able to do every day, and not run behind (this is where the challenge comes in, and I am so ready to try it).
- Second hope that through out this challenge, I will be able to put up a picture in a post each day.
- Third I hope that I am actually able to come up with some creatively individual designs. (This is something I am worried about, even though I have gone through a number of art classes, and my mom was an art teacher, I don't know if I will be creative.)

So travel with me on this journey through a month of polishes and many different styles of painting my nails. Below you will find the schedule, join me f you wish! ... Let's get started... and GO!

My Poor Nails!!!

My poor nails!!!

So as you know lately I have been trying to fix my peeling nail problem. Well I wanted to give a little update. So one it is really, really hard to remember to follow all the things to fix them. I was doing really well in the beginning, but as time has gone by it has become harder and harder to keep up with the regamin. Well I guess if you start this when you are younger, or can actually do it consecutively for a month then you would be able to keep it going.

In the beginning I did notice a different feeling on my nails, hard to explain but they felt nice. Anyways something else that they say you should do if your  nails are peeling is to cut them down to below the part that is peeling, that being said, I cut my nails down to nubs, and after a week the peeling seemed to be worse than before... Grrr...

So I think that if you can truly get into the habbit of this regamin, then it probably will work, and you can fix the problem. For me though I hate painting my nails when there is nothing there, I just have no drive to do so, and since I started a nail art challenge, and couldn't stand my nails being so short I did something I really detest on myself (because it really isn't that good for your nails) and got tips. Now to tell you the truth I was so done with my nails looking like crap, and am so happy to now have nails that I can paint and be happy with the way they look.

So here are some pictures of my nails after I cut them, but before I got the tips. I forgot to mention that over the weekend I also gouged out a bunch of one of my thumb nails on a sidewalk... Don't ask! Anyways here are the pictures.

Unfortunatly the picture of the nail that had the big gouge taken out of it, did not come out so I was not able to post that one.

Start The Stamping!

So as I have already stated, I love polish. Well I was not that good at doing designs, and like a lot of people have seen those infomercials on tv for the stamping set. I have seen them a number of places but hadn't brought my self to buy it yet. Well one day at Sally's I finnaly broke down and bought it.

After buying that, and trying it out, I started doing a lot of reasurch on them and found some blogs and Facebook groups. Here I was introduced to some awsome pictures, ideas, and some places to buy more stamping plates. I heard that Bundle Monster was a favorite, and at that point they were going to be bringing out their new set in like a week or do.

Well I wated, and in the release date I had a little extra money and bought all three Bundle Monster stamping plate sets. Woo Hoo!

Obviously after receiving that awsome delivery of nail mail, I couldn't wait to get started on practicing! So I practiced, and finally about  two weeks ago finnaly posted my first stamp challenge. I had done others but didn't like the way they looked. So below find my first entry of a challenge!

This picture was taken after cutting my nails down, but before the nubs!
